SPRING 2018
My contribution to this issue -- my last because I relocated to Texas from Kansas -- was about changes coming to Manhattan to foster the city's growth. From improvements at the regional airport to development in the entertainment district, Manhattan officials were busy with plans to make the city one of the state's main vacation destinations.

In this issue dedicated to the local music scene, my first story follows the ascent of a jazz saxophonist who excelled in high school, struggled in college and grew to play sets with national artists before debuting his first album. My second story was a first-person piece that tells about my encounter with "musical therapy dogs" who work in a piano studio.
FALL 2017
Co-working spaces had been developed in cities throughout the world long before entrepreneurs brought them to the Midwest. Two pieces I wrote for this issue offer a look at a pair of co-working businesses located in Manhattan.
